Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Yi-Fan Sun is an accomplished violinist with extensive experience in both orchestral performance and solo work. He is currently serving as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and also holds positions in the Terre Haute and Paducah Symphony Orchestras. He previously served as Principal Second Violin of the Indiana University Orchestra.
Sun received a Master of Music in Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he studied with Grigory Kalinovsky. He has performed under renowned conductors like Raffaele Ponti, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, and Thomas Wilkins and received guidance from esteemed artists including Ingrid Matthews, Mark Holloway, Alexander Kerr, Rictor Noren, Simon James, and the Cavani Quartet. Sun is dedicated to continuously honing his craft through rigorous training and diverse performance opportunities.
