Tania Michelle Wineglass is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and curator whose 30-year
career has centered on art, storytelling, education, and community engagement. Her work has
been exhibited at institutions including the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Eiteljorg Museum, and
Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, as well as in galleries throughout Indiana and New
York. She has exhibited, lectured, and led workshops at universities including Marian University,
Vincennes University, Indiana University Fort Wayne, and Indiana University Indianapolis.
Wineglass’s murals enrich public and private spaces, including Garfield Park, Greater Northwest
Baptist Church, and Charles Tindley Accelerated Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Arts
Education degree from Herron School of Art and Design and a master’s degree in ceramics and
painting from the University of Indianapolis. After more than 25 years as a public school art
educator, she continues to work as a teaching artist, curator, and practicing artist. As a visual
griot, Wineglass uses art to preserve, interpret, and reimagine stories of cultural memory,
identity, healing, and community.
