Emmet Hanick, double bass, began performing with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra during the 2014 season. Incidentally, he reunites with principal bassist David Murray after studying with him in high school at the Indiana String Academy.
Mr. Hanick has appeared with the Indianapolis and Cincinnati Symphonies as well as the Louisville Orchestra. Previously a New World Symphony Fellow, Hanick’s performance engagements have included Artosphere, Ash Lawn Opera, MusicIC, and Lakes Area Music Festival.
Hanick earned a Bachelor’s of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Albert Laszlo. He continued with an M.M. from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under Bruce Bransby. As a student, he participated in the Aspen Music Festival, the Opera and Theater Festival of Lucca, Italy, National Repertory Orchestra, and Pacific Music Festival.
