Brief info

Violinist Dianna Joiner-Miller lives in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to her appointment with Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra she is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Akron Symphony Orchestra. From 2016-2018 she served as concertmaster of the Ashland Symphony Orchestra and was featured as a soloist. Dianna also performs with the Erie Philharmonic, West Virginia Symphony, and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra.

Dianna joined the faculty at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory and Community Music School in 2018 after serving on the violin faculty at the Aurora School of Music in Aurora, OH. As a Suzuki- trained teacher she enjoys teaching students of all ages and continues to give master classes across Ohio and surrounding regions. She is also an avid chamber player, participating in organizations such as M.U.S.i.C (Musical Upcoming Stars in the Classics) and Classical Revolution Cleveland, a nonprofit presenting various styles of music in non-traditional venues.

Dianna was a member of the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra in Colorado for three summers and was also a member of the Spoleto Festival USA orchestra. She has participated in several music festivals including the Vermont Mozart Festival, Round Top Festival Institute, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center.

A native of Greenville, SC, Dianna began Suzuki violin instruction with her mother at the age of five and continued with her father through high school. She received a Bachelor of Music from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, Master of Music from the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Professional Studies Diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Her primary teachers have been Thomas Joiner, Carolyn Huebl, Brian Lewis, and William Preucil, concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra.
