Thank You for a Bewitching Night in Barcelona!
As a long time ICO supporter, I’ve been to lots of galas… at least 20, if not more. I love to dress up, see friends, and yes, spend money to support the Orchestra that I’ve grown to love. This was no different. “A Bewitching Night in Barcelona” held on Feb 24, 2018 proved be just that—bewitching, fun, memorable and well, even if we didn’t actually go to Barcelona, we were there in our mind’s eye…
The ambiance and décor at Woodstock Club is beautiful, but was even more so with the fabulous floral arrangements designed by The Empty Vase. Vibrant and bold colors set against black linens made every flower “pop” with excitement. Classical guitarists Espen Jenson and Atanas Tzvetkov (otherwise known as Duo Espanas) transported us musically with their exquisite fingering and fretwork. Indianapolis Ballet dancers Kristin Young and Chris Lingner presented a beautifully seductive dance to the music of Bizet’s Carmen. By the time the ICO gala orchestra played the Toreador theme, we were all ready for the bullfight!—or make that the live auction.
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and socialized to make this event a financial and social success. The ICO raised over $53,0000 in support of its subscription, education and outreach concerts. Thank you to event sponsors, Printing Partners, Harlow & Co., National Bank of Indianapolis and Katz, Sapper, & Miller.
Thank you to the Gala Committee and ICO Board member Craig Gigax who served as General Chairman. And a special thank you to Honorary Chairpersons Cheri and Rollie Dick who have embraced the ICO with their great ideas, time, energy and generosity.
A little more about Cheri and Rollie Dick. They love Indianapolis and are known for their commitment to building a vibrant community for all through supporting various local educational, cultural and health organizations in central Indiana, including Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. “The community has been good to me,” said Rollie. “And it’s important I share my time, talents, and treasures with others.”
Thank you, Cheri and Rollie, for your support of Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and for a successful and memorable “Bewitching Night in Barcelona!”
