At 25 years old Gabriel Fridkis is quickly establishing himself as a distinguished orchestral flutist and soloist. He currently holds the position of Principal Flute in the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra as well as being a Regular Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Gabriel has also performed with the San Antonio Symphony and as guest principal with the Fort Worth Symphony.
Gabriel has performed as a concerto soloist abroad in Italy, Croatia and The Czech Republic as well as in America as winner of the Purchase Symphony Orchestra and Jean and Beattie Wood Concerto Competitions, and with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Gabriel’s primary teachers have included Mark Sparks, Gary Schocker and Tara O’Connor and he has spent summers playing with the National Repertory Orchestra as well as the Aspen, Brevard, Breckenridge and Banff Music Festivals. He has also premiered numerous works by noted composer Gary Schocker, both in duet with the composer and Gabriel’s brother and duo partner, Jake Fridkis.
