SUMMARY:Steamboat Bill\, Jr.
DESCRIPTION:Gardens of Spain Gabriela Martinez\, Piano \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra for a vibrant evening of music—featuring the world premiere of CHROMA by acclaimed composer Stacy Garrop\, commissioned through the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation and the League of American Orchestras. Stacy’s commission is underwritten by the Toulmin Foundation and the FBT Gibbons.(CHROMA lives up to its name—exploring a dazzling spectrum of musical hues in a piece that is both inventive and deeply resonant.)  The program opens with Copland’s lively Three Latin American Sketches and continues with Falla’s evocative Nights in the Gardens of Spain in its rare 1926 chamber version\, featuring pianist Gabriela Martinez. The evening concludes with Gottschalk’s Symphony No. 2 (Montevideo)\, a spirited fusion of classical and Latin rhythms. Enjoy a colorful celebration of cultural connection\, bold new voices\, and timeless musical landscapes. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Date: March 21\, 2026 at 7:30pm \n \n \n \n Location: The Schrott Center for the Arts \n \n \n \n Conducted by Matthew Kraemer \n \n \n \n Repertoire: Copland – Three Latin American SketchesFalla – Nights in the Gardens of Spain with Gabriela Martinez\, piano Gottschalk – Symphony No. 2 (Montevideo)Stacy Garrop – CHROMA – Virginia B.
