DESCRIPTION:Shore of the Sea with Tim Fain\, Violin \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra invites you to an evening of discovery and delight with two exciting world premieres by composer-in-residence\, Michael Shapiro. Shapiro’s Zoomies! is a playful and energetic new work inspired by the joyful\, unpredictable bursts of energy we love in our canine companions.  The spotlight turns to celebrated violinist Tim Fain for the world premiere of Shapiro’s Violin Concerto: At the Shore of the Sea. Lyrical and expansive\, this evocative work reflects the meeting point between land and water expressed through Fain’s breathtaking virtuosity. Anchoring the program is Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor\, Op. 11\, a brilliant and passionate work composed when Mendelssohn was just 15. The program begins with Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture\, a richly atmospheric tone poem inspired by the rugged beauty of Scotland’s coastline.   Join us for a concert that journeys from whimsical to profound\, featuring new music with heart and humor\, and a classical gem that still dazzles with its early genius. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Date: January 31 at 7:30pm \n \n \n \n Location: The Schrott Center for the Arts \n \n \n \n Conducted by Matthew Kraemer \n \n \n \n Mendelssohn – The HebridesMichael Shapiro – At the Shore of the Sea: Violin ConcertoTim Fain\, Violin Michael Shapiro –  Zoomies!Mendelssohn – Symphony No. 1\, Op 11 in c minor \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n presented by: \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n tickets: \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Season Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Duet (2) packs\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Single Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Matthew Kraemer\, Conductor & Music Director\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Tim Fain\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Michael Shapiro\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Date & Time:	\n January 31\n\n	\n\n @ \n\n\n7:30 pm\n\n \n\n\n\n	\n - \n\n9:00 pm\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n	\n	Add to calendar	\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n	Google Calendar\n\n \n	iCalendar\n\n \n	Outlook 365\n\n \n	Outlook Live\n\n \n \n\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	Schrott Center for the Arts\, Butler University\n	\n	\n\n610 W. 46th St.\n	\n \n Indianapolis\,\n\n	IN\n\n	46208\n\n	United States\n\n\n\n\n	+ Google Map \n\n\n	\n 317-940-9607 \n\n\n	\n \n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n \n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n Messiah Sing Along & Carols	\n\n\n \n	\n Gardens of Spain: Gabriela Martinez\, Piano
