The season will open with a performance by pianist and child prodigy, Umi Garrett. Umi debuted on the world's stage in May of 2009, wowing audiences on NBC's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" at the ripe age of eight. Now, as a seasoned ten-year-old pianist and prizewinner of several international competitions including the Chopin International Piano Competition, Umi will perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major. The concert will also include Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Debussy's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and Prokofiev's Classical Symphony.
